Have you ever realised too late, that the price you’ve paid for not doing something is a regret you’ll have to live with for the rest of your life?

The dictionary describes regret as:

{Noun} a feeling of sadness, repentance, or disappointment over something that one has failed to do…

“At the end of your life, you will never regret not working longer or harder, getting that promotion, buying that new XYZ, making more money, you will regret the time you didn’t spend taking those holidays with friends/family, leaving work early, using some of your savings to treat yourself and, taking risks and truly living your life”.

It was a freezing cold Saturday (25 February 2012) in Boston Massachusetts when I experienced my own life-changing regret!

I was in the US on a routine business trip, staying with friends for a weekend of shopping, parties and coffee dates, before a week of meetings.

The trip ended up being nothing but routine.

All I saw was the inside of an ambulance and a Hospital, that I’m told it’s the best in the world for what had happened to me.

THANK GOODNESS for medical insurance, it was a VERY expensive 5-day stay!

That weekend my life changed forever.

Within the space of 24 hours, I had experienced every emotion under the sun.

I was supposed to be having the time of my life, not fighting for my life.

Life is not fair, and it doesn’t come with any guarantees apart from the fact that none of us are getting out of this “game” alive.

I wasn’t ready for my life to end that day.

Especially not when in the moment I thought I was going to die, I realised I had never truly LIVED!!

I’d go so caught up in day-to-day demands, deadlines and distractions. I never really paid much attention to the fact that my life had no passion and little purpose.

I’d never had a plan, I’d moved from job to job, and challenge to challenge, taking holidays, ticking boxes but with no real excitement.

Since my wake up call I’ve worked with and interviewed hundreds of successful businessmen and women who all have 2 things in common:

1. They have a plan (that grows and evolves as they do)

2. They understand what success means to them (it changes as they do)

Next month I’d love you to join us for How to Create Success by Design, where I will be sharing 3 things that will help you turbocharge the results you’re getting in your life – AND I’ve got an amazing panel of guest speakers who will all be sharing their formula for their Success in an informal Q&A format.
